I stated my reason in another thread. For me, it gives me the opportunity an even the motivation to do more in depth Bible studies.

i realized in a conversation with a friend that I could not think of a single thing i'd learned from the scripture in the previous month.

i set out to find one thing I could learn every week...
i was incompetent.

i blog to force myself to FIND something that is speaking to me. so that i'm not just running my eyes over the scriptures and not digesting them...

it's been very helpful to me.

Mainly to keep a record of what I'm learning, to solidify what I've learned and cause me to look up more stuff to back it up, and as a repository for links, lists, articles, blogs etc that I want to keep track of.

I have to agree here, with one other selfish reason to add. I also use my blog as a means of asking questions and getting feedback on things which I have very little experience. It was going well until I cut back a bit, and my readership has dropped. Hopefully once school is over I'll have a bit more time to blog about things.

So you're saying I'm selfish?

Actually it is mainly for selfish reasons. I'm not trying to teach or submit my scholarly research.

I may start asking more questions now that there are more of you reading.
