That seems like pretty standard fare for politics.
Yeah I suppose I am participating in theology somehow, but I don't perceive myself with that label. Might I add that it is hard to display emotion with text. These smilies just don't capture my winking nature.

It would be nice for the world to not see us through the eyes of a bumbling president with a funky accent for a while. (as much as I have frankly liked bush) |
Obama is a politician, which makes him a liar. Whatever he presents himself to be, he isn't. Whatever responsibilities he might give the appearance of us as a nation keeping, we won't. And quite frankly, I've liked Bush as well. I really, I mean really, think that people are so enamored by Obama because they see him as the anti-Bush, not because he's the most qualified for the job.
My vote's for McCain. Go Beruplicans! |

No, we have 2 main parties, and we vote for the party (not person). We have a proportional representation model which creates (supposedly) a more democratic democracy.. Although you wouldnt know that with the current bunch of clowns in power. |

That would entirely depend on what you are chiming... |

Maybe I'm naive, but I think this kind of generalization is just lame. There are people who see meaning in life, a call and a desire to serve others. Politics is a system that benefits from people doing the right thing, and all who enter that system are not doing it for selfish reasons.
Also, I reject the implication in the title of this thread. Why cannot a woman be a good, strong leader of our nation? There have historically been many great women leaders, from the ancient times to modern. |

You may have a point, but we should not elect our leadership based on what other countries think. Our current leader has lost a lot of respect but we carry on.
As far as respect goes, our national leader plays a very minor role. Our policy (and military might) are what matters. |

| afraid i disagree with you again. as far as power our leader plays a very minor role
but we dont get respect based on our senate or our house we get it based on who is sitting in the oval office and if they bumble over words like stratergery
i think we should elect who is the best for us, not who is the best for other nations. but i think right now, who is the best in the eyes of the world, may be the best move for us.
(also... cheaper gas would be nice, but i ride a bike so it doesn't affect me much) _________________ "sometimes a little more than you think you want is still a little less than you actually need" "brilliance seems too often masked by stupid people" |
