| if you're a preacher how do you teach? if you're not, how do you like to be taught?
expository? - verse by verse (and do you prefer more information dump or a good amount of application)
topic based? - fear, loathing, las vegas etc...
other? - whatever the pastor wants, etc...
i'm taking my first preaching class in a few weeks... and the teaching on it leans VERY strongly towards expository (probably because its a reformed seminary), but thats now what I grew up with... just curious what ya'll think. _________________ "sometimes a little more than you think you want is still a little less than you actually need" "brilliance seems too often masked by stupid people" |

Very amusing... and a great movie BTW.
I used to really prefer topic based teaching and preaching, lately I seem to be preferring a more expository style that is heavier on scripture. My opinion has been changing quite a bit though so I can't say that I even know what my preference is now. I am really curious to hear a sermon from a Lectionary though, as I've never had the opportunity. _________________ \_ My blog: Discipulus Scripturae |

i came across one in a barnes and noble and was wondering what the heck it was... apparently i'm poorly educated... but i would find it pretty interesting to hear teaching from one... i've considered getting one and blogging my way through one... but feeling cheap. _________________ "sometimes a little more than you think you want is still a little less than you actually need" "brilliance seems too often masked by stupid people" |
